Through my paintings, sculptures and ceramics i create my own nostalgic-futuristic view of the World. Interactivity of colours, lights and shadows have helped me to find some small answers concerning the Great Secret of the meaning of existence.
We are getting up and down stairs without the beginning or the end.
We are able to change and move in the forever- flowing Misty Stream of longing...

CURRICULUM VITAE

Eija Karivirta is a well known Finnish ceramic artist, whose work over the years has consisted of
innovative pottery articles, ceramic sculpture and paintings.
She studied at the Ateneum - the Institute of Crafts and design in Helsinki.
Upon completing her diploma she began her own workshop in Helsinki.
Photographs of her works have been published in numerous magazines,
books and reviews in Finland and abroad.


Eija is the recipient of several government and private grants and scolarships, and has exhibited her work widely in Finland and internationally. Her works are represented numerous public and private collections.
